Muscular and Skeletal Health
The musculoskeletal system helps us move, breathe, exercise, and perform every day activities. It is made up of our skeletal bones, our muscles and joints that are all involved with movement. The musculoskeletal system allows a range of movements and the ability to use our bodies to exercise. It is not until we have reduced function, or loss, of our bodies and limbs that we realize how much we depend on our musculoskeletal system.
The joints of the body are intricately complex, with many contributing structures that allow a fluid motion. When these joints become damaged, such as in osteoporosis or arthritis, we begin to lose function of movements and frequently experience pain. Joint problems can cause dramatic changes to our daily routines and severely hamper our lifestyle and wellbeing.
