Men's Health
Men’s health is an important area of health that deserves the attention of all men. Not only do men differ from women anatomically, there are a set of physiological functions which are unique to men. The reproductive system of men, comprised of the testes, epididymus, prostate, urethra, and penis, produces testosterone for growth and semen for the safe passage of sperm to the ovum.
Unfortunately, these mechanisms may become injured representing a range of conditions specific to men’s health. More specifically, the prostate gland represents a site where some pathology may occur such as benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. Many men ignore the symptoms and signs of ill health, which can prevent them from getting quality and timely health care. Encouraging men to become more aware of their own bodies and to seek help when necessary is important for long term health.
